A Record-Breaking Night of Networking and Pitching in London! 🚀

The RareFounders - The London Startup Scene event last night wasn't just busy; it was a record-smasher! We checked in 240 guests, but the crowd swelled beyond that — a testament to the electric energy and enthusiasm that filled the air.

A special shoutout to my indispensable team: Rob Woodhead, Cynthia Kesington, Tim Whiston — I couldn't have done it without your support! ❤️ And to Matthew Prowse, your team at Park Row showed immense patience and effort in accommodating our bustling event.

Even as "Agent of Chaos," I saw the beauty in the bustling environment where connections were forged, investors and founders mingled, and pitch skills were honed. 😈

In a thrilling first, we had 10 investors flipping the script and pitching to founders, followed by about 25 founders presenting their startups. This interaction not only energized the crowd but also provided a unique perspective into what investors seek.

Cheers to the 111 free beers served, courtesy of Steven Mooney and FundMyPitch, adding to the event's buzzing vibe! 🍺

Despite the lack of traditional setups like monitors and seating, the overwhelming response I keep hearing is, "I met amazing people!!!" That's the heart of RareFounders events — creating meaningful connections that thrive in a dynamic atmosphere. And the most asked question? "When is the next event?!" 😜

Our universe was born from chaos, and it seems so too are the best networking events. Finding an investor can feel as rare as spotting a rainbow 🌈, but last week, with 280 attendees, the room was not just full, it was alive with opportunities.

Turning norms on their head, investors pitched their thesis to an audience of founders, a move that was both appreciated and insightful. Here are the investment champions who took the stage:

  • Alex Thompson from Sure Valley Ventures, focused on AI, Machine Learning, and Cybersecurity with a seed stage preference.

  • Jonathan Sun from Horizan VC, covering a spectrum from SpaceTech to CleanTech, looking to follow in pre-seed to pre-MVP stages.

  • Shosh Shetty from FirstMonday VC, interested in Fitness and CleanTech, open to leading or following from pre-seed to Series A+ stages.

  • Ryan Moore, an angel investor with a keen eye on AI, Big Data, and eCommerce, ready to lead or follow in early stages.

  • Josh Webb, another angel investor, focusing on AI, Blockchain, and Sustainability, prepared to take the lead or support in seed stages.

Pitching is an art, and our founders are becoming masters. Each one stood before an audience of 280, delivering their vision with passion and precision. Here are the startups to watch:

  • Elizabeth Rochester from Rochester Departures, setting new benchmarks in corporate travel.

  • Irina Gheorghiu from ZIM Connections, simplifying mobile plans for travelers.

  • Tommy Dai from Revmass, redefining e-commerce pricing strategies.

  • Alefya Talib from Mera Khilona, championing play equality in Pakistan.

  • Qi Herng Kong from the moonbeam co., innovating sustainable food technologies.

  • Andras Tasi from Social Media Directions with 'Esemdee', enhancing social media management for franchises.

  • David Harper from Aeris Biotechnologies, pioneering eco-friendly solutions to combat dust mites.

Each founder and investor who stepped into the spotlight at RareFounders is a reminder of the vibrant, tenacious spirit that drives the startup scene forward. Stay tuned for what's next — because in this chaos, we find our cosmos.

Thanks to our sponsors and partners
