October was a busy month for The London Startup Scene team! 😅 We hosted our monthly networking and pitching events for founders and investors in London, and a week later, we did the same thing in Dublin. Then, two weeks after that, we did it again in London – three big events in total! 🌟

But that's not all! In October, we also wanted to try out our new event concept – a founder-only open mic pitching brunch. 🍳 Besides networking and enjoying a delicious meal together, we wanted to give founders a chance to practice their pitching skills, but with a twist. After each pitch, the audience provided feedback, especially about how well they understood the business being pitched. 🗣️

You see, we founders often know so much about our business that we struggle to explain it simply. 😅 That's where getting feedback on how people understand our business becomes super valuable. Without this feedback, it's hard to improve, and investors usually don't give much feedback either. 😬

Based on the feedback we received after the event, founders found it really valuable, even if they didn't pitch themselves. 🙌 Here's a message from one of the founders:

“My co-founder and I didn't get a chance to say goodbye on Saturday when we left the brunch. Many thanks for organizing that; we really enjoyed it, and it was super useful. We ended up making some changes to our pitch deck based on seeing people's pitches and the questions that people asked, so that was really helpful!” 🤝
