The London Startup Scene - Halloween - 25th Oct 2023 - full event
Against all the odds like venue cancelling on us the last minute, or our copycats hosting the same event concept day before ours, last week we hosted the banging networking and pitching event π. And in our usual style, it was an event with a difference as it's Halloween time, baby π.
Who said that founders and investors can't have fun and dress up while doing something serious? Check out the pictures of some of our attendees πΈ. I'm super happy that many made an effort π. Apparently, I made too much effort as many didn't recognize me (mostly because I didn't wear glasses) π.
We opened the event with an interview with Ken Thomas from Backfuture VC about the current state of investment landscape for early stage founders and where this could go next year π. Then we had 20+ founders pitching their exciting business to the audience π₯.
Jane Fisher, Dec McLaughlin, Carl Peterken - won 2 prizes for the best costumes π. They all get a guaranteed meeting with VC (Ken) and financial model review by Fortune 500 CFO (courtesy of Scott Willis - Ferrock) π.
It was a fun night but we missed Dan Atherton, founder of Dune Technology, our event sponsor π. My pitch on what his developments team can do doesn't do him any justice π€·ββοΈ.
None of this would be possible without my team and amazing volunteers - Naim Mustafa, Cynthia Kesington, Luca Spiller, Rob Woodhead, Nikita Pevnev, Raushan Irgaliyeva, Juan Vargas, Nikolay Gelovski, Ewan Moran π.
Big thank you to Anthony Rose and his team at SeedLegals for the continuous support of what we do π.
Our event took place at amazing Dockside Vault - huge underground venue that can hold up to 450 people π’. From all the venues we have worked with this one was one of the best, especially the team π. They set up a bar for hospitality very high, no surprise that they collected the record amount at the bar from drinks π». (For any venue enquiries please contact ben@docksidevaults.com).
Until the next time!
Now go and watch the video. Naim did an amazing job turning it into something people can actually watch online π.
